REE
deposits in Thailand are classified into primary and secondary
deposits (Charusiri et al., 2006). The major primary REE deposits
include REE-bearing disseminated Sn granitoids and stockworks,
REE-bearing Sn ± W pegmatites, REE-bearing Sn ± W quartz veins, and
REE-bearing Sn skarns, and these granitoids are of the S-type
affinity. The secondary REE deposits are associated with
placer Sn deposits derived from granitic rocks by weathering (
Charusiri et al., 2006)
